The ISTA Postdoctoral Fellowship Program 2026 in Austria is now accepting applications.  This fellowship at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria is fully funded for international students. Anyone who has earned or plans to complete a PhD or its equivalent is eligible to apply for the ISTA Postdoctoral Fellowship. The ISTA Fellowship lasts for 2 years. Fellows will be given a full-time, two-year contract with competitive pay and full social security coverage; there is no application cost. Candidates from all academic backgrounds are accepted at ISTA. Additionally, ISTA will provide Visa Support and other required assistance. Eligibility Criteria

 

  • The ISTA Post Doc Fellowship is open to all Nationals.
  • Eligible Research Fields: All research fields supported at ISTA are eligible. You can find more details on these fields at https://ist.ac.at/en/research.
  • Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) by the respective call deadline (which is September 16, 2025, for the upcoming call).
  • Alternatively, applicants who anticipate completing their PhD degree before the fellowship start date (no later than June 15, 2026) are also eligible.
  • A fellowship contract will not be issued until a copy of the diploma or proof of successful defense is provided.
